Having said that, some are obviously more sturdy than others. 1950s Rolleiflex, to numerous 1960s and newer SLRs, I have to say that I find Canon point and shoots the easiest and most logical to use. Again, this is all from a photographers standpoint, but Canon knows what settings are important and where to put them. Nikon would be right behind them, although both make excellent cameras, both point and shoot and SLR. Sony is an electronics camera. Using Sony camera reminds me too much of trying to set the time on my VCR. Important settings like ISO, White Balance, and exposure compensation are buried in menus, while theyre just one or two button pushes away on Canons. Sony is an electronics company that makes cameras. Their cameras follow too much from the design of their electronics products. This is very good for most users. AA batteries, rechargeable or regular. Lithium battery are good, but not easy to find if youre on vacation and need batteries at a convienence store or can recharge quickly.

Nothing against other brands, just personal preference and experience of these brands. Im sure youll be able to find these 4 qualities in the other brands that will fit your budget. H7 myself and have yet to come across any settings within the camera that allow you to delete the photos after uploading them to a memory source, like your hardrive.

Thats not to say the camera cannot be set up that way, but I have yet to see that option.
